The Mercedes duo of Antonelli and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/george-russell\" title=\"George Russell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">George Russell<\/a> suffered slow starts, as McLaren&#8217;s Oscar Piastri took the early lead and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/f1-teams\/ferrari\" title=\"Ferrari\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ferrari<\/a> made gains, but a rapid Safety Car restart saw Antonelli storm to the win.With an impressive winning margin of 14 seconds, 19-year-old Antonelli becomes the youngest F1 championship leader ever, beating previous holder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/lewis-hamilton\" title=\"Lewis Hamilton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> by 2 years and 274 days.Oscar Piastri has finally got his season underway, finishing P2 ahead of Ferrari&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/charles-leclerc\" title=\"Charles Leclerc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charles Leclerc<\/a>, who was locked in a thrilling skirmish again with Hamilton and Russell for the final podium place late on.<\/p>\n<p>Max Verstappen recovered from his P11 start, but only to P8, after an impressive defence by Alpine&#8217;s Pierre Gasly up to the final corner.<\/p>\n<p>The Safety Car was brought out on Lap 22 after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/breaking-news\/haas-reveals-bearmans-condition-after-brutal-suzuka-crash\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a big impact crash for Ollie Bearman at Spoon curve<\/a>.
