And I know a lot of actors, specifically people of color, who have been expected to change their name and haven\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tShe explained that for anyone, the decision to change their name is \u201ccomplicated,\u201d and added, \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything wrong with people who decide to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFor her own sake, Moafi said, \u201cIt felt like they needed me to be someone different in order to work or to sell something. I refused. I continued, and I ended up booking my first job and then my second and third, and having a beautiful, varied career as a result.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn \u201cThe Pitt\u201d Season 2, Moafi plays Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, an attending physician set to replace Noah Wyle\u2019s Dr. Michael Robinavitch while he\u2019s away on sabbatical.
