(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/03\/29\/protesters-break-through-gates-portland-ice-facility-burn-flags-saturday-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/03\/29\/protesters-break-through-gates-portland-ice-facility-burn-flags-saturday-night\/\">KPTV<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; A group gathered at the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement building Saturday night following a large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/03\/28\/live-portland-no-kings-protesters-gather-waterfront-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/03\/28\/live-portland-no-kings-protesters-gather-waterfront-park\/\">\u201cNo Kings\u201d demonstration<\/a> downtown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Protesters ended up breaking open the gate at the Portland ICE facility just after 6:30 p.m. Federal agents pushed the crowd back and Portland police announced it was making several arrests at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The burning of an American flag and a Nazi flag could also be seen in the crowd before authorities commanded all protesters to leave the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Portland\u2019s \u201cNo Kings\u201d rallies were part of multiple protests held across the country on Saturday against the Iran conflict and President Donald Trump\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe have to stand up,\u201d protester Sarah Gomm said. \u201cWe have to show at least our representatives what we want because they are not serving us right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Organizers were estimating that more than 9 million people participated in Saturday\u2019s rallies in the U.S. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The National Republican Congressional Committee was sharply critical of the rallies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThese Hate America Rallies are where the far-left\u2019s most violent, deranged fantasies get a microphone,\u201d spokesperson Maureen O\u2019Toole said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Organizers said they were committed to nonviolent action with expectations that protestors would de-escalate tense situations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KPTV via Gray Local Media, Inc.
