He\u2019s been one of the surprises of the season in La Liga. Not just for the output, but for how he plays. Direct, aggressive, always looking to turn his full-back. Osasuna gave him minutes and responsibility, and he hasn\u2019t looked overwhelmed by either. That carried into his Spain debut against Serbia, where he scored and didn\u2019t seem fazed by the step up.<\/p>\n

Barcelona have taken notice. Mundo Deportivo<\/a> reported days ago that the club has been monitoring him closely. It\u2019s not hard to see why. Hansi Flick has had to patch together solutions on the wings at times, especially when Raphinha hasn\u2019t been available. Mu\u00f1oz offers something more natural for that role, someone who stays wide, stretches the game, and can beat his man without needing much help.<\/p>\n

But the situation drags in Real Madrid at every turn.<\/p>\n

They still own half of his rights and, more importantly, control a buy-back clause that kicks in this summer for eight million euros. In a market where his value has already climbed to around 20 million, that figure stands out.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the release clause at Osasuna, set at 40 million. If anyone pays it, Madrid take half. That\u2019s part of what makes Barcelona hesitate.<\/p>\n

Osasuna aren\u2019t entertaining anything below the clause anyway. They turned down offers in January, some from England, and haven\u2019t changed their stance.<\/p>\n

From Madrid\u2019s side, the plan seems clear. According to El Debate<\/a>, they expect to activate the buy-back option and bring him back in the summer, then decide whether he stays or goes out on loan again.
