Kristin Davis revealed that one of her \u201cMelrose Place\u201d co-stars gave her the cold shoulder during the time they worked together on the hit \u201990s prime-time soap drama.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During a recent appearance on \u201cHey Dude\u2026 The \u201990s Called!\u201d podcast, the 60-year-old actress recalled that she \u201cfelt like I won the lottery\u201d when she landed the role of the villainous Brooke Armstrong in the third season of \u201cMelrose Place\u201d from 1995 to 1996.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, the \u201cSex and the City\u201d star told hosts Christine Taylor and David Lascher \u201cthere was never a moment of feeling confident\u201d on the set of the Aaron Spelling-created series, and one cast member in particular was not very friendly to her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were just so many, so many people [on set],\u201d Davis said. \u201cAnd I felt and I have obviously seen all these people since then, and so many of them are so lovely. But at the time \u2026 it was competitive.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had my friends within, like Marcia Cross and I were were close, which was wonderful,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut there was one, you know, she wouldn\u2019t speak to me. Like, she wouldn\u2019t speak to me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never had scenes with her, so it wasn\u2019t an issue. But I say, like, \u2018Good morning,\u2019 [and she wouldn\u2019t respond].\u201d<\/p>\n
Taylor noted she also had similar experiences with co-stars, especially during that \u201cperiod of time\u201d in which she recalled actors were wary of \u201canybody who could potentially threaten your job.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all been on sets where we\u2019ve had that experience where it was like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t think that they love that I\u2019m here, but I\u2019m only here for like a guest star [role] or whatever, right?’\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The \u201cZoolander\u201d star continued, \u201cAnd sometimes they weren\u2019t the nicest on certain sets and other times wonderful, but I feel like it was a period of time. And then, I guarantee you now, 30 years out of it everyone looks back and is like, \u2018Oh my God, what an idiot I was.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Davis explained she had \u201cseen this person,\u201d who she did not name, since that time.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s very nice to me now,\u201d Davis said. \u201cAnd sometimes I\u2019m like, \u2018Does she remember that she was being not that nice to me?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis said she took the opposite approach when she starred on \u201cSex and the City,\u201d describing herself as the \u201cwelcoming committee\u201d when new actors joined the cast or made guest appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI tried to get out there quick and be like, \u2018Hi,\u2019\u00a0 because I remember that horrible feeling,\u201d Davis recalled. \u201cIt was scary.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite her negative experience with one co-star, Davis shared that it was \u201camazing\u201d to be part of \u201cMelrose Place,\u201d though she was disappointed that her stint on the show was short.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMelrose was intimidating in, you know, so many ways, obviously,\u201d Davis said. \u201cI mean, I grew up \u2026 watching all the \u2018Dallas\u2019 and \u2018Dynasty\u2019 and blah blah blah.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it meant a lot to me to be on there,\u201d she added. \u201cObviously, it was just a job also. Like, at a certain point, you\u2019re like, \u2018I have won the lottery. Like, I have a job. I cannot believe it.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, it\u2019s amazing, right, from a young actor perspective,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd, I mean, as far as I know, I was gonna stay there. Like, I didn\u2019t know that I was only gonna be one season, which I believe was 32 episodes, which is insane to think about now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Davis\u2019 character was killed off in the episode \u201cDevil in a Wet Dress\u201d after she drowned in the Melrose Place pool after falling and hitting her head.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During a February interview with People magazine, Davis revealed that she beat Hilary Swank for the role of Brooke in \u201cMelrose Place.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was Hilary Swank, myself and a girl named Meredith,\u201d Davis recalled of the final auditions for the part.<\/p>\n
Davis told the outlet she had been worried about her \u201cvery, very long hair\u201d at the time since the other actresses on the show had shorter hair. She recalled that she considered cutting her hair but decided against it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember going in, and it was just the three of us, and everyone was very nice,\u201d Davis recalled. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t one of those, like, scary rooms, and then you go in one at a time..<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I remember Hilary came out, and she seemed so young, and she had kind of shorter hair and kind of sporty. And I was like, \u2018Uh-oh,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd then Meredith had longer hair also. I was like, \u2018Oh, good.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Davis recalled that she and Meredith comforted Swank, who told them, \u201cI totally blew it,\u201d after leaving the audition room.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, she goes on to win two Oscars,\u201d Davis said of Swank with a laugh. \u201cShe did fine.
