Jack White <\/a>needled Donald Trump<\/a> after it was announced that the president would be slapping his signature on U.S. banknotes.<\/p>\n

The White Stripes frontman described Trump as a \u201cmanipulative, loophole finding, egomaniacal, conman\u201d in a lengthy Instagram post<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh how humble!\u201d White wrote. \u201cBut why stop there donnie? Why don\u2019t you use your small hands to sign into law that your oh so stern orange face appears on the front of the hundred dollar bill as well?\u201d<\/p>\n

For more than a century, currency has featured the names of the U.S. Treasury Secretary and the Treasurer. However, Trump will soon become the first sitting U.S. president to have his autograph on America\u2019s money<\/a>. According to The New York Times<\/a>, Trump\u2019s signature will appear alongside that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The name of the U.S. treasurer will be removed.<\/p>\n

White didn\u2019t let Trump\u2019s enablers off the hook, either.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might as well, since Congress and the American people (and to an extent, the rest of the world) are all just letting you do whatever you want to anyways, so go ahead! Invade Cuba next? Sure! Go ahead, nobody\u2019s stopping you,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

White tried to put the decision to add Trump\u2019s signature to the nation\u2019s currency in context.<\/p>\n

\u201cGas prices are surging as a world wide crisis that HE caused rages in the Middle East; it\u2019s the perfect time to joke on fox \u201cnews\u201d, visit Graceland, and sign into law to have your bloated, cocky signature on all U.S. currency! Congrats donnie! You deserve it!\u201d White wrote.<\/p>\n

White ended his post with a cutting, if not legally questionable, protest idea.<\/p>\n

\u201cWouldn\u2019t it be funny if someone started a campaign to black magic marker line out his name every time you receive a new banknote? I think that\u2019s against the law to deface U.S. currency, so I would never suggest that becoming a nationwide campaign,\u201d he wrote, \u201cbut is everyone allowed to break the law when they feel like it or just donnie?\u201d<\/p>\n

A stalwart Trump critic, White highlighted the president\u2019s hypocrisy<\/a> in a post about the Iran war earlier this month, writing: \u201cBehold the leader of the \u2018Board of Peace.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump has been haunted by the puny paw allegations<\/a> for decades after Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter dubbed him a \u201cshort-fingered vulgarian\u201d back in the 1980s. The dig reportedly got under Trump\u2019s skin so badly that for years, Carter regularly received mail containing photos of Trump with his hands circled in gold Sharpie.<\/p>\n
