{"id":555108,"date":"2026-03-30T23:51:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T23:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/555108\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T23:51:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T23:51:09","slug":"raiders-named-nfl-super-bowl-63-host-as-allegiant-stadium-holds-event-for-2nd-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/555108\/","title":{"rendered":"Raiders Named NFL Super Bowl 63 Host as Allegiant Stadium Holds Event for 2nd Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">After several days of rumors and speculation, the NFL has confirmed that Allegiant Stadium will be the home of Super Bowl 63 in February 2029. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The league announced on Monday that the Las Vegas Raiders&#8217; home stadium will host the Super Bowl for the second time in five years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued a <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/las-vegas-to-host-super-bowl-lxiii-in-2029?campaign=Twitter_atn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">statement<\/a> as part of the announcement:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">&#8220;We&#8217;re excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas and provide our fans another incredible experience in one of America&#8217;s greatest sport and entertainment destinations. Super Bowl LVIII demonstrated the scale, energy and hospitality the city brings to global events, and we look forward to working alongside the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the Raiders and the community to deliver an even greater experience this time around.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Allegiant Stadium made its Super Bowl debut in February 2024. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime, marking just the second overtime game in Super Bowl history after the New England Patriots-Atlanta Falcons in February 2018. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The NFL did not specify a date for the game, which could be due in part to the league&#8217;s continue exploration of an 18-game regular season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Pro Football Talk&#8217;s\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/nfl-keeps-door-open-for-18-games-by-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Mike Florio<\/a>\u00a0reported in February that the league is keeping the door open to adding an extra game to regular-season schedule as soon as 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Any changes to the schedule would need to be collectively bargained with the NFL Players Association. JC Tretter, who was recently elected as the new executive director of the NFLPA, has indicated to The Athletic&#8217;s\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7143683\/2026\/03\/24\/nfl-18th-game-jc-tretter-executive-director\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Mike Jones<\/a>\u00a0that expanding the schedule isn&#8217;t necessarily something the union would be thrilled about.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Since the 2021 season, which was the first year with the 17-game regular season schedule, the Super Bowl has been played on the second Sunday in February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The five-year turnaround time for Allegiant Stadium to host its second Super Bowl continues a recent trend from the NFL of going back to the same sites fairly quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will host the Big Game next season, five years after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at their home stadium for the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host Super Bowl 62 in February 2028.
