The Packers also have interest.<\/p>\n<p>Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed Monday that Cousins is one of the options the team has discussed after losing Malik Willis in free agency. Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord are the two quarterbacks currently behind Jordan Love.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, we\u2019ve discussed a lot of those options,\u201d Gutekunst said when asked about Cousins, via Matt Schneidman of TheAthletic.com. \u201cObviously that\u2019s a guy who\u2019s got <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mattschneidman\/status\/2038708139642732564\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a lot of pelts on the wall<\/a> in this league, so we\u2019ve certainly discussed all those kind of things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was the quarterbacks coach in Washington during Cousins\u2019 first two seasons in the league (2012-13).<\/p>\n<p>Cousins started eight games last season as the backup to Michael Penix, who tore his ACL in Week 11 against Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Cousins has thrown for 44,700 yards with 298 touchdowns and 131 interceptions in his 14-year career.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Rams aren\u2019t the only team interested in Kirk Cousins as a backup quarterback.
