Shulman Rogers is pleased to announce a multiple six-figure
\nsettlement obtained on behalf of our client in a Virginia premises
\nliability case. Our client suffered a thoracic spinal fracture
\nafter falling on black ice on concrete steps. The premises owner
\nhad failed to salt or sand the steps despite rain and freezing
\ntemperatures the night before the incident. The injury required
\nsurgery and the installation of hardware in her back. When that
\nhardware later failed, she underwent a second surgery, and
\nextensive physical therapy.<\/p>\n

Despite significant challenges to the liability portion of the
\ncase, our team prevailed by leveraging photographic evidence and
\ndeposition testimony demonstrating that the premises owner had
\nprior notice of the dangerous conditions and failed to act. While
\nour client continues to live with hardware in her back, the nearly
\nhalf-million dollar settlement provides meaningful compensation and
\na path forward from an unexpected and life-altering ordeal.<\/p>\n
