Instagram<\/a> post, she is seen signing autographs when an American fan asks her to share her favorite place to eat in Oakland.\u00a0<\/p>\n\u201cIn Oakland, my favorite place to eat is\u00a0Arizmendi,\u201d Zendaya responds matter-of-factly, adding that the bakery also has a location in San Francisco. In an interview with SFGATE, a spokesperson for the worker-owned cooperative confirmed that the \u201cDune\u201d actress, who is from Oakland, frequents the Lakeshore location \u201cwhen she\u2019s in town.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh my God, we were really excited to see it,\u201d Arizmendi co-owner and social media manager Christine Belardo told SFGATE over the phone. Belardo said she didn\u2019t know the name of the customer who sent the video via Instagram \u2014 only that the person messaged them and said they had met Zendaya and asked her the question.<\/p>\n
The sender was just a fan lucky enough to be there and have a \u201cquick interaction\u201d with the actress, Belardo said. But it filled the owners with pride, she continued, to \u201cfeel the love\u201d from a Bay Area icon\u00a0\u2014 all the way from Europe, no less.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe love it when she [Zendaya] comes into the bakery,\u201d said Belardo, who hasn\u2019t met Zendaya but confirmed that the bakery\u2019s co-owners have. She said Zendaya\u00a0likes to order pizza and may have also tried the scones, as they are a top seller at the bakery.<\/p>\n
Arizmendi is a worker-owned bakery with four locations in the Bay Area. In addition to scones and pizza, it\u2019s known for sourdough bread, muffins, croissants, cookies and more. The Oakland location is the first and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Drama\u201d follows a couple facing a crisis days before their wedding. It is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide April 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n
