Here\u2019s my Monday piece on two defensive players<\/a> who have summoned to team headquarters for pre-draft visits.<\/p>\n This story was originally published March 30, 2026 at 6:42 PM.<\/p>\n
Eight quick hits from Dolphins general manager Jon Eric-Sullivan\u2019s Monday session in Phoenix with a few South Florida reporters, including The Miami Herald\u2019s Omar Kelly:<\/p>\n
\u25aa The Dolphins know they need cornerback help, and while Sullivan likes the upside of the players at that position, he said nobody \u201chas earned anything\u201d yet in that room.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat whole back end is competing for their jobs,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cI like who\u2019s on the roster. Those guys would all tell you no one has established themselves for whatever reason, whether it\u2019s injury or inconsistent play. We are going to put them in a bag and shake them up and see who… wins the job. I\u2019m going to do everything in my power if there\u2019s one available that\u2019s a stud, I\u2019m going to go get them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Though Sullivan didn\u2019t mention any draft players by name, Miami has been linked to LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane in mock drafts; he\u2019s projected for the 9 to 14 range. He\u2019s among the prospects who has been invited to Dolphins headquarters for a visit.<\/p>\n
\u201cNobody has earned anything yet,\u201d Sullivan said of the cornerback room. \u201cNobody has established themselves yet back there. That\u2019s just the truth of the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Sullivan endorsed left tackle Patrick Paul and center Aaron Brewer but said \u201cthere\u2019s going to be competition\u201d elsewhere on the line.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Left guard Jonah] Savaiinaea will be first one to tell you he has got to be more consistent,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cOn the right side, we have some questions we need to get answered. [Right tackle] Austin Jackson. We\u2019re excited to get him back; he needs to stay healthy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are going to have competition at the right guard spot. I like a lot of pieces on our offensive line — our left tackle and center especially. There\u2019s going to be competition elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Sullivan said he\u2019s \u201cvery happy with our defensive line. I like our young defensive tackle room. Jordan Phillips [Kenneth] Grant, [Zeek] Biggers. I like Zach [Sieler] obviously; he\u2019s a good, established player. I like our defensive line. We will continue to add to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Sullivan said the draft is particularly strong at three positions:<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s depth at the edge spot. [There\u2019s] a lot of safety depth. Inside linebacker, there\u2019s depth and substance there. Those three positions, this draft relative to most, if you don\u2019t get a guy in the first round, you have a chance to get a chance in the second, third round.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also said \u201cit\u2019s a really good wide receiver draft. [There are] some very good players up top; there\u2019s depth and substance to it in the second, third, fourth rounds.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa He said the team\u2019s receivers — including newcomer Jalen Tolbert — \u201chave something to prove and understand they have something to prove. They understand what the narrative is with [them, that] nobody is expecting much. They\u2019re chasing the carrot. \u201cIt\u2019s my job to put more substance in that room. We have to surround Malik [Willis] with good football players. We\u2019ve got to put playmakers around him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Might Sullivan trade down from picks 11 or 43?<\/p>\n
\u201cYou never know how it\u2019s going to unfold. It truly depends on how the board falls and what\u2019s available. I\u2019m all for acquiring picks, but I\u2019m not getting an award for [volume of] draft picks…. I will never pass on a very good player to acquire picks unless there are very good players I know I\u2019m going to be able to get.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Speaking of the team\u2019s new edge players, Sullivan said Joshua Uche \u201cwill play a lot of SAM [linebacker] for us at times… You can let him go rush. He\u2019s wired right. Tough, physical. [David] Ojabo is excited. He\u2019s a bigger body. He\u2019s got length, got a physical presence. He\u2019s a little bit of a different body type than we have, which I think we need. We will keep adding to the room, throw them all in the mix and see what comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u25aa Speaking of returning edge player Chop Robinson, Sullivan said: \u201cHe has a responsibility, has to be intentional about his business… I have a lot of confidence in [coach Jeff Hafley] his staff and their ability to teach and develop young players.<\/p>\n
\u201cChop has a lot of natural talent. We have a lot of really good coaches in the building. I think it will be a good marriage. We will get the most out of Chop.\u201d<\/p>\n
