However, they have not ruled out trading Pitts if the right offer comes along.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my job as the General Manager to do what\u2019s best for the organization,\u201d Ian Cunningham said, via Josh Kendall of TheAthletic.com. \u201cKyle is a great player. We\u2019ve seen his skill set. Also, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7158870\/2026\/03\/30\/falcons-owners-meeting-michael-penix-tua-tagovailoa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">it\u2019s my job to listen<\/a>. We\u2019re excited to have Kyle. We\u2019re excited for his future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pitts will make $15 million under the tag in 2026 if he isn\u2019t signed to a long-term deal.<\/p>\n<p>He finished second among tight ends in receptions (88) and receiving yards (928) last season, trailing only Arizona\u2019s Trey McBride. Pitts added a career-high five touchdown catches, while earning second-team All-Pro honors. <\/p>\n<p>Pitts, 25, has 284 receptions for 3,579 yards and 15 touchdowns in five seasons after the Falcons made him the fourth overall pick.<\/p>\n<p>If Pitts remains with the team, head coach Kevin Stefanski could use multiple tight end sets with Pitts, Austin Hooper and Charlie Woerner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe certainly want to be a team that goes in and out of different personnel groupings,\u201d Stefanski said. \u201cThe spring and summer will allow us to see what our best group is and what we want to lean into.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Falcons placed the franchise tag on tight end Kyle Pitts.
