Rock icon Bruce Springsteen<\/a> delivered a blunt message to President Donald Trump<\/a> and his administration on Tuesday night during a politically charged tour opener in Minneapolis. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe America that I love, the America that I\u2019ve written about for 50 years, that\u2019s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous administration,\u201d Springsteen said at the start of the show to cheers from the audience. <\/p>\n

He called on the crowd to choose \u201cresistance over complacency, unity over division and peace over war,\u201d with that last word signaling the start of a rousing cover of The Temptations\u2019 \u201cWar\u201d followed by his 1984 hit, \u201cBorn In The U.S.A.\u201d <\/p>\n

Later in the show, Springsteen accused Trump and his \u201ccorrupt White House\u201d of turning the United States into a \u201creckless, unpredictable, predatory rogue nation.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is happening now,\u201d he repeated throughout his comments. <\/p>\n

Variety reported<\/a> that Springsteen slammed Trump for waging an \u201cunconstitutional and illegal war,\u201d for \u201cabandoning NATO\u201d and for threatening \u201cour neighbors and our allies.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cOur museums are being told to whitewash American history of any unpleasant or inconvenient facts like the full history of the brutality of slavery. You want to talk about snowflakes? We have a president who can\u2019t handle the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Springsteen also lashed out at Attorney General Pam Bondi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe prosecutes our president\u2019s perceived enemies, covers up for his misdeeds,\u201d he said. \u201cand protects his powerful friends.\u201d <\/p>\n

Springsteen and his E Street Band were joined by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello for the show, which was nearly three hours long.<\/p>\n

Springsteen has a habit of getting under Trump\u2019s skin. Last year, he spoke out against Trump during a tour of Europe. That triggered<\/a> a social media meltdown<\/a> in which the president attacked Springsteen as \u201ca pushy, obnoxious JERK\u201d and \u201cdried out \u2018prune.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

Trump also told Springsteen to \u201cKEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT.\u201d Springsteen has done just the opposite. <\/p>\n

Earlier this year, he released the anthemic protest song, \u201cStreets of Minneapolis<\/a>,\u201d after federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good \u2015 two Americans who were protesting against Trump and his violent immigration crackdown in the city. <\/p>\n

Soon after, Springsteen announced his \u201cLand of Hope and Dreams American Tour,\u201d which he will bring to Trump\u2019s doorstep when it wraps up in Washington, D.C., in May.<\/p>\n
