\n\tOlivia Rodrigo has announced<\/a> that her new album, \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,\u201d will be released on June 12 via Geffen Records.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer revealed the news on Instagram, which she wiped yesterday in anticipation of the album announcement. \u201cMy third album \u2018you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love\u2019 is out June 12th,\u201d she wrote in the caption. \u201cI am so proud of this record and I can\u2019t wait for you to hear it. available for preorder now! \ud83e\ude77\u201d The post also included the album cover, which shows Rodrigo upside-down on a swing.<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo recorded the album with producer Dan Nigro, with whom she worked on her first two albums \u201cSour\u201d and \u201cGuts.\u201d Little is known about the album itself other than what she\u2019s teased over the past month or so. Fans searching for clues noticed changes in color on the background of her website and her \u201cOR\u201d logo, an aesthetic that also appeared on a mural in Los Angeles and a lock found in London with the word \u201cApril\u201d inside.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring an interview with British Vogue last month, she touched on the process for the new record, explaining that it was a \u201ccreative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you\u2019re experiencing that you\u2019re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you\u2019re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!\u201d She shared three songs with the Vogue writer, who described the tracks as \u201cinstantly transporting, cinematic and so intimate.\u201d Rodrigo said that they\u2019re all \u201csad love songs\u201d and added, \u201cI realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them.\u201d<\/p>\n
