Last week, a woman filed a civil lawsuit<\/a> against Nacua, alleging that on New Year\u2019s Eve he made an antisemitic statement during a group dinner and later bit her shoulder. Nacua\u2019s attorney told The Times before the lawsuit was filed that Nacua \u201cdenies these allegations in the strongest possible terms,\u201d and that Nacua would \u201cpursue all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a livestream in December, Nacua criticized NFL officials and made a gesture regarded as antisemitic. Nacua apologized, and the Rams and the NFL issued statements condemning antisemitism and discrimination. But after the Rams\u2019 loss to the Seattle Seahawks<\/a>, Nacua criticized officials in a social media post from the locker room. The NFL fined him $25,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe play on the field is amazing, and then with what the play has dictated and determined there is a responsibility in terms of representing all things not exclusive to just that,\u201d McVay said Monday when asked about Nacua<\/a>. \u201cHe knows that, those are expectations and we are hopeful that … this will be an opportunity for him to learn and grow, and we are hopeful that he\u2019s a Ram for a really long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he understands what the responsibility is, not exclusive to just the production on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snead described Nacua as a \u201cyoung man, becoming,\u201d who is \u201ccontinuing to evolve\u201d as a person and player.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need to be on your Ps and Qs in both categories,\u201d Snead said, \u201cboth variables, right, to earn that type of contract.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony Pastoors, the Rams\u2019 chief operating officer, said \u201ceverything gets weighed\u201d in the process.<\/p>\n
