\n\tWith Season 2 of Your Friends & Neighbors, Amanda Peet<\/a> is enjoying what comes with playing her well-rounded character Mel Cooper.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress admitted \u201cit is really nice\u201d having series creator and showrunner Jonathan Tropper write her sex scenes<\/a> at age 54, as well as scenes about the experience of perimenopause, with which she\u2019s familiar.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThank goodness it\u2019s less taboo to talk about now,\u201d she told Glamour<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m 54, so I\u2019m dealing with all of that shit, and it\u2019s pretty hellish. It was actually really fun\u2014and very real\u2014that Jonathan Tropper put it into Mel\u2019s storyline. We saw her keying that random car last season, and God knows I\u2019ve wanted to key a lot of cars in the last three years. People seemed to be really into that part of Mel, so we were really into the idea that she has a lot of rage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPeet added, \u201cA lot of people are going into more depth about it, so it\u2019s easier to understand. People are believing women a little bit more about what perimenopause is like, so I think Tropper was interested in making it funny and a little bit dangerous and fucked up, which are all really fun things to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series, Mel\u2019s first-date sex in the front seat of a car is cut short when she suffers vaginal dryness, a symptom of perimenopause. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have to say, as a 54-year-old woman, it is really nice that my boss writes me sex scenes and he writes about menopause. Both,\u201d said Peet.<\/p>\n
