The County of Maui Department of Water Supply is requesting all South Maui customers, including residents, visitors, hotels and condominium properties, to conserve water and limit nonessential use from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, while crews work to repair a mainline break. <\/p>\n
The work may cause a temporary loss of water service or reduced pressure in areas mauka of L\u012bpoa Street, between L\u012bpoa Street and Kilohana Drive, and throughout Wailea and M\u0101kena.<\/p>\n
Affected areas include the Maui Research & Technology Park, K\u012bhei Charter School, and surrounding businesses and residents in K\u012bhei, Wailea and M\u0101kena. Maui Meadows is not expected to be affected; however, residents are still asked to conserve water during this time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile water storage tanks are currently full, they may deplete rapidly if water is not conserved during this period,\u201d DWS Director John Stufflebean said. \u201cThese conservation efforts will help maintain water availability for essential needs while repair work is underway and service is restored.\u201d<\/p>\n
