SAN FRANCISCO — Firefighters worked to put out a fire outside a cargo building at San Francisco International Airport on Friday afternoon in an area away from the main passenger terminals.<\/p>\n

A fire was reported around 2:15 p.m. inside several cargo containers outside of a United Airlines cargo building on South McDonnell Road but has since been contained.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Fire Department was joined by the San Bruno Fire Department to put out the one-alarm fire.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Fire Department posted on X that the fire was contained to five “conex storage containers.”<\/p>\n

No injuries or threats to the public were reported.<\/p>\n

Roadways in the immediate area are closed due to smoke, but flight operations at SFO are not impacted.<\/p>\n

The AirTrain Blue Line that runs to the rental car center and long-term parking was temporarily suspended. A bus connection from the terminals was launched.<\/p>\n
