Which women do you expect to reach Sunday\u2019s final?<\/p>\n<p>WTA Charleston Semifinal Predictions<br \/>\nMadison Keys vs Yuliia Starodubtseva<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: First meeting<\/p>\n<p>Keys overcame Donna Vekic, Anna Bondar, and Belinda Bencic to reach this stage, while Starodubtseva defeated Shuai Zhang, Ekaterine Gorgodze, Renata Zarazua, and McCartney Kessler. Both players have only dropped one set so far. Starodubtseva possesses a clean-hitting game and always tries to overwhelm opponents with her groundstrokes. The green clay in Charleston provides a medium speed for the Ukrainian\u2019s shots to zip through the court, while giving her time to wind them up.<\/p>\n<p>However, Keys is among the WTA players who can outhit Starodubtseva. That presents a problem for the lower-ranked player, since she is not a very good defender. I doubt she will be able to consistently live with the Grand Slam champion\u2019s powerful serve and groundstrokes.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Keys in 2<\/p>\n<p>Jessica Pegula vs Iva Jovic<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: Pegula 1-0 Jovic<\/p>\n<p>Jovic did not drop a set in her triumphs over Alycia Parks, Sofia Kenin, and Anna Kalinskaya. In sharp contrast, Pegula went the distance against Yulia Putintseva, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and Diana Shnaider. Last year\u2019s winner showed all her<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2026\/04\/03\/jessica-pegula-continues-to-find-a-way-in-charleston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> fighting qualities to find a way to win<\/a> despite playing perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>Pegula\u2019s efforts in those matches might give Jovic additional confidence for this match, but I do not think she will topple <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2024\/09\/07\/aryna-sabalenka-wins-first-us-open-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the 2024 US Open runner-up<\/a> for two reasons. Firstly, Pegula\u2019s fitness is exceptional, meaning she will probably not run out of steam after her three previous contests went to a deciding set. Secondly, Jovic\u2019s game, while impressive and improving fast, suits Pegula well.
