Ted McGinley said he\u2019s managed to weather the peaks and valleys of show business thanks to his stable private life and a strong sense of thriftiness.<\/p>\n
The \u201cShrinking\u201d actor, 67, whose first breakout role was as a vicious jock in 1984\u2019s \u201cRevenge of the Nerds,\u201d told Page Six in a recent interview that he never worried about where his next paycheck was coming from, and neither did his wife, actress Gigi Rice.<\/p>\n
\u201cLuckily, when I walk into my home, no one ever says that to me,\u201d he shared. \u201cI\u2019ve got a wife who loves me, I\u2019ve got two kids that love me, I have friends that have nothing to do with the business, and it doesn\u2019t even exist outside of that part of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ted McGinley spoke to Page Six in a recent exclusive interview about how he\u2019s navigated over 40 years in show business. Page Six<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it\u2019s very healthy,\u201d the \u201cMarried with Children\u201d alum added.<\/p>\n
And McGinley was refreshingly candid about how he\u2019s weathered the financial ups and downs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m super cheap,\u201d he explained with a laugh, and luckily, he and Rice are on the same page.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re both very thrifty and have been\u2026I\u2019m a massive saver. I\u2019ve worked since I was in third grade, cutting lawns and doing paper routes, and I\u2019ve saved it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Due to his long career on TV, starting in the 70s and including shows like \u201cHappy Days,\u201d \u201cThe Love Boat,\u201d \u201cDynasty\u201d and seven years on \u201cMarried with Children,\u201d McGinley said he still gets a ton of residual checks, sometimes in the ridiculous amount of one penny.<\/p>\n
He admitted he hasn\u2019t cashed them, but anything above four cents is going into an account.<\/p>\n
McGinley can currently be seen in the comedy-drama \u201cShrinking\u201d and confessed that he was worried about his character\u2019s fate when he landed in the hospital this season with a heart ailment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought, oh no, don\u2019t do it, please don\u2019t do it,\u201d he recalled. \u201cAt some point, I asked Bill [Lawrence, the show\u2019s co-creator<\/a>], \u2018Bill, are you killing me off?\u2019 And he made some funny joke and I walked away thinking, so is that a yes or no? I had no idea he was playing with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
