{"id":565867,"date":"2026-04-05T10:59:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T10:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/565867\/"},"modified":"2026-04-05T10:59:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T10:59:12","slug":"baby-eagle-on-the-way-for-big-bears-favorite-pair-jackie-and-shadow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/565867\/","title":{"rendered":"Baby eagle on the way for Big Bear&#8217;s favorite pair Jackie and Shadow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An egg laid by <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/26\/us-news\/famous-big-bear-valley-bald-eagles-welcome-first-egg-of-26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">California\u2019s most famous feathered couple<\/a> has started to hatch \u2014 and all eyes are on the famous pair\u2019s love nest.  <\/p>\n<p>Big Bear bald eagles Jackie and Shadow \u2014 whose lives are documented via a webcam that attracts viewers worldwide \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/25\/us-news\/big-bear-bald-eagles-lay-new-egg-after-raven-attack\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">introduced the bundle of joy back in February<\/a> after a raven attacked the pair\u2019s first two eggs of the season.<\/p>\n<p>This week, the first signs of life came in the form of small chirps emanating from the egg, according to the nonprofit <a href=\"https:\/\/friendsofbigbearvalley.org\/eagle-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Friends of Big Bear Valley<\/a>, which operates the eagle cam.<\/p>\n<p>A slight crack could be seen in the egg, hinting at the eaglet\u2019s imminent arrival. <\/p>\n<p>The nonprofit Friends of Big Bear Valley, which operates cameras overlooking the nest, said small chirps were heard from inside the egg Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The noises were a sign that chick had broken the internal membrane and taken its first breath.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a PIP!\u201d the organization cheered on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign up for the California Morning Report newsletter\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCalifornia&#8217;s top news, sports and entertainment delivered to your inbox every day.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A slight crack could be seen in the egg, pointing to the eaglet\u2019s imminent arrival.
