The Indiana Fever<\/a> had a relatively successful season in 2025, winning the Commissioner’s Cup championship even without the injured Caitlin Clark<\/a>. They failed to make it all the way to the WNBA<\/a> Finals in the playoffs, but they did reach the semifinals and gave the Las Vegas Aces<\/a> a massive scare.<\/p>\n

Indiana actually pushed Las Vegas to the full five games in the series. The Aces eventually won the 2025 championship, sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the Finals.<\/p>\n

The Fever had a total of 18 players suit up for them last season, in large part due to the injuries to Clark, Sophie Cunningham<\/a> and several others.<\/p>\n

However, there was one Fever player that was part of the team but didn’t play in 2025: Kristy Wallace. Before the season began, Wallace opted to sit out the whole campaign due to personal reasons. As a result, Indiana suspended her contract but retained her rights.<\/p>\n

Wallace played for the Fever in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, averaging 5.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 63 games. She started 15 games for Indiana in 2024.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Wallace won’t be returning to the team for the 2026 season. She was taken by the new WNBA team, the Toronto Tempo, during Friday’s expansion draft.<\/p>\n

The Fever sent a parting message to Wallace following the Tempo’s selection, thanking her for her contributions to the franchise.<\/p>\n

“Kristy Wallace has been selected by the Toronto Tempo in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft,” the Fever wrote. “Thank you, Kristy.”<\/p>\n

Clark, for her part, commented on Indiana’s post and expressed her love for Wallace.<\/p>\n

“Kdub ily,” the two-time All-Star stated.<\/p>\n

Wallace made sure to respond to Clark and show her appreciation for her, saying, “big love mate.”<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if Wallace will suit up in the WNBA with the Tempo in 2026 and whether she will make the team’s official roster.<\/p>\n

Indiana will play the Tempo for the first time on June 16.<\/p>\n
