\n\tOlivia Rodrigo<\/a> will drop the first single from her third album, \u201cDrop Dead,\u201d on April 17.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer revealed the news on her Instagram Tuesday alongside a photo of her blowing a bubble with gum, with the name of the single embroidered on her shirt. <\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, Rodrigo announced that her third full-length album<\/a>, \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,\u201d will release on June 12. She recorded the album alongside producer Dan Nigro, whom she worked with on her first two albums, \u201cSour\u201d and \u201cGuts.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThough little has been shared about the album itself, Rodrigo teased its themes in a British Vogue cover story<\/a> last month, saying it\u2019s full of \u201csad love songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re experiencing that you\u2019re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you\u2019re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBritish Vogue writer Amel Mukhtar heard three songs from the album and described them as \u201cinstantly transporting, cinematic and so intimate.\u201d From Mukhtar\u2019s story, one song is about \u201cthe spirituality of finding the man of your dreams,\u201d while another \u201ctraces the withdrawal symptoms of separation\u201d and was inspired by Miranda and Steve\u2019s relationship on \u201cSex and the City.\u201d A third tune is about the realizing that \u201clove won\u2019t fix you\u201d and is described by British Vogue as \u201cdancier\u201d and \u201cexperimental,\u201d with an \u201corchestral end.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou\u2019re getting to the core of all of your issues: how you feel about yourself, your insecurities, what makes you joyful,\u201d Rodrigo added about love. \u201cIt feels like the most raw form of you, which is so scary and terrifying and uncomfortable, sometimes, but beautiful at times.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Olivia Rodrigo will drop the first single from her third album, \u201cDrop Dead,\u201d on April 17.
