Manchester United reportedly make the decision to sign an alternative to RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who is of interest to Newcastle United this summer.<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> are reported to have identified Real Madrid<\/a> winger Vinicius Junior<\/a> as an alternative to RB Leipzig<\/a> forward Benjamin Sesko<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim<\/a> has already signed two key attackers this summer, with Matheus Cunha<\/a> and Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> adding significantly to his squad.<\/p>\n

United are thought to still be in the market for a striker, though they have already missed out on Liam Delap to Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres<\/a> to Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Sesko is subject to a transfer battle<\/a> between the Red Devils and Newcastle United<\/a>, with the two clubs hoping to replace Rasmus Hojlund<\/a> and Alexander Isak<\/a> respectively.<\/p>\n

Fichajes<\/a> claim that those in charge at Old Trafford have decided to launch an audacious bid for Real’s Vinicius Junior instead of continuing their pursuit of Sesko.<\/p>\n

Would Vinicius Junior work at United?<\/p>\n

There is no doubting\u00a0Vinicius Junior’s place as one of the world’s best forwards, with the Brazilian scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in all competions for Los Blancos last term.<\/p>\n

Following the exit of Marcus Rashford<\/a> to Barcelona, and the expulsion of\u00a0Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> from the squad, the only speedster in the United team is Mbeumo, and the addition of the Real man would help the Red Devils threaten in behind opposition defences.<\/p>\n

While the attacker possesses many qualities, there may not be a suitable position for him in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system considering he is not a natural striker and is not an attacking midfielder.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Amorim was reportedly dissatisfied with the work of winger Rashford without the ball, so it is hard to see him being happy to allow the Real winger to take a lax approach out of possession.<\/p>\n

Should United consider an alternative option?<\/p>\n

While Vinicius Junior’s transfer to Old Trafford may be an unrealistic option, there is merit in looking for an alternative to Sesko.<\/p>\n

United are facing severe financial pressures this summer and may not have the funds necessary to bring in a forward and a midfielder.<\/p>\n

If Sesko was signed, then captain Bruno Fernandes<\/a> would be forced into a deeper midfield role, and his relative unfamiliarity with the position could cause the Red Devils defensive issues.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it would be better to consider using one of Mbeumo or Cunha as the team’s number nine, while signing a midfielder and using Fernandes as a number 10.<\/p>\n
