A representative confirmed the news to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/aubrey-plaza-pregnant-first-baby-exclusive-11945171\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">People<\/a> magazine, which first reported the story. A source told the publication the baby is due this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,\u201d the source told People, adding that \u201cthey feel very blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The news marks a turning point for Plaza after a period of personal loss. Her husband, screenwriter and director Jeff Baena, died by suicide in January 2025 at age 47, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,\u201d Plaza said. \u201cI feel overall, I\u2019m here and I\u2019m functioning, and I feel, you know, like I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I\u2019m OK, but, you know, it\u2019s like a daily struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plaza is best known for her breakout role as April Ludgate on NBC\u2019s \u201cParks and Recreation\u201d and has since built a wide-ranging film career, including \u201cIngrid Goes West\u201d (2017), \u201cEmily the Criminal\u201d (2022) and Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s \u201cMegalopolis\u201d (2024). She is set to star in the upcoming film \u201cThe Accompanist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plaza has largely kept a low profile since Baena\u2019s death, returning selectively to public appearances and film work.
