NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) \u2014 An Iranian man living in Nashville is speaking out about the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran.<\/p>\n
Navid Bayat-Mokhtari says 47 years of systematic persecution has brought Iran and the U.S. to this point. He says the Iranian people accept the challenges ahead in order to remove what he calls a terroristic regime.<\/p>\n
When asked if his feelings changed now that the president is threatening attacks on civilian infrastructure like bridges or power plants, Bayat-Mokhtari had a clear response. <\/p>\n
“Despite over 5,000 military targets struck, despite the decimation of Iranian Air Force and Navy, despite the killing of their supreme leader in the first day of the intervention, yet the IRC is still standing,” Bayat-Mokhtari said. “A new supreme leader has been installed, the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, and execution of protesters is continuing inside Iran. This tells you everything you need to know about the nature of this regime.”<\/p>\n
Bayat-Mokhtari says he and others have not been in touch with their loved ones for about 30 days. The regime cut off the internet and phone lines.<\/p>\n
Bayat-Mokhtari says he prays for the U.S. not to leave the Iranian people alone to fight the regime as civilians are not armed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"NASHVILLE, Tenn.
