Close<\/a>Marc Raimondi’s first year covering the Falcons was 2024, but it wasn’t his first year at ESPN. He joined the company in 2019 and was a top combat sports reporter. He also covered professional wrestling and wrote the book “Say Hello to the Bad Guys: How Pro Wrestling’s New World Order Changed America,” which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2025. Raimondi also worked for the New York Post and Newsday, beginning in 2009, covering high school and college sports, plus the NFL, NFL, MLB and NHL.<\/p>\n Multiple Authors<\/p>\n Atlanta Falcons<\/a> starting right tackle Kaleb McGary<\/a> is retiring, his agent, Collin Roberts, announced on social media.<\/p>\n McGary, 31, missed the entire 2025 season<\/a> with a knee injury suffered on the final day of training camp. We are grateful for the impact he made on this organization, and we wish him nothing but the best in retirement.”<\/p>\n The Falcons moved quickly to replace McGary<\/a>, agreeing to a one-year contract with right tackle Jawaan Taylor<\/a> with a base value of $5 million and an additional $1 million in incentives on Wednesday, his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n Editor’s Picks<\/p>\n 2 Related<\/p>\n Taylor, who was released in a cap-cutting move by the Kansas City Chiefs, won a Super Bowl in Kansas City and has made 111 career NFL starts. While Taylor was a productive pass blocker, he struggled with penalties, committing 49 (41 accepted) in 45 games with the Chiefs, the most of any lineman during that span.<\/p>\n McGary started 92 games over six seasons in Atlanta. An elite run blocker, he was part of an offensive line that had some of the best continuity in the NFL and helped Bijan Robinson<\/a> to become one of the league’s best running backs.<\/p>\n The Falcons signed McGary to a two-year, $30 million contract extension last summer. Atlanta will be able to recoup at least some of that for salary cap relief with McGary’s retirement.<\/p>\n McGary’s backup Storm Norton<\/a> also missed all of last season with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n
