The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft for a second consecutive year. But unlike in 2025, when the Wings took Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall, there is no consensus top pick in 2026.<\/a><\/p>\n

Spanish center Awa Fam has topped several mock drafts over the last several months and could be one of the players the Wings are considering before they make their pick on April 13.<\/p>\n

Here are five things to know about Fam.<\/p>\n

The center has represented Spain in several international tournaments. At the 2022 FIBA Under-17 World Cup, Fam averaged 10.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. She tallied eight points, eight rebounds and five assists against the United States in the gold medal game. Spain won the silver medal.<\/p>\n

At the 2023 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, Fam averaged 10.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Against the United States in the gold medal game, she recorded 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Spain won the silver medal and Fam earned All-Second Team honors.<\/p>\n

Fam recently signed on to play in Project B, a new overseas 5-on-5 basketball league that will play games in Europe, Asia and South America from November 2026 through April 2027.<\/p>\n

Several WNBA players, including Nneka Ogwumike, Alyssa Thomas, Jonquel Jones, Jewell Loyd and Kelsey Mitchell, have also said they\u2019re joining Project B.<\/p>\n

Should the Wings draft Fam, she will be the youngest player on the roster at just 19 years old. Fam will turn 20 in June.<\/p>\n

Fam has played for Spanish basketball club Valencia Basket since 2021 and was loaned to Gernika KESB for the 2024-25 season. In 2025, she signed with Valencia Basket through 2029.<\/p>\n
