Michigan State men\u2019s basketball\u2019s All-American point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. announced he\u2019s declaring for the NBA Draft while maintaining his remaining two years of college eligibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter speaking with my family, coaches, and representatives, I’m excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2026 NBA Draft while maintaining my college eligibility,\u201d Fears wrote in a social media post Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fears is the first Spartan to announce their future plans after the team’s season ended March 27. Fears led MSU in scoring with 15.2 points per game and a nation-best 9.4 assists per game.<\/p>\n
Fears is represented by former NBA\u00a0champion Mike Miller, who is the president and founder of\u00a0LIFT Sports Management. In 2018, the NCAA revised its rules to allow \u201cNCAA-certified\u201d agents to represent student-athletes while they test the NBA\u00a0draft’s waters.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fears could join his brother Jeremiah in the NBA, who was drafted by the Pelicans last offseason.\u00a0In March, he was named to the John R. Wooden Award All-American team for the nation\u2019s top point guards, the AP All-American Second Team and was named a finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an important step in my journey, and I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and competing against the best as I continue to develop my game,” Fears wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n
