Next week sees CinemaCon (formerly ShoWest), the convention for exhibitors where the film studios show off their upcoming wares to theatre owners and some members of the press.<\/p>\n

It comes at a time when there are a lot of questions about the fate of the industry as a whole over the next few years, but also one of the strongest summer line-ups of the post-pandemic era, with a major release essentially every weekend from late April through the end of July.<\/p>\n

While most of the footage screened at the event is for those in attendance in the room, the studios do occasionally push out a trailer after screening it for exhibitors.<\/p>\n

Last year, the first trailers for \u201cTRON: Ares\u201d and \u201cM3GAN 2.0,\u201d and a new trailer for \u201cKarate Kid: Legends\u201d all had their debut online within a day of their presentation. The prior year, \u201cJoker: Folie a Deux\u201d released its trailer during its CinemaCon presentation.<\/p>\n

So what could come this year? Trailer tracker Buy Physical Media<\/a> and other sources indicate the first trailer for \u201cWeapons\u201d director Zach Cregger\u2019s new \u201cResident Film\u201d will go online next week \u2013 likely right after Sony\u2019s presentation. So far, that\u2019s the only trailer (and certainly the biggest one) rumored to go online.<\/p>\n

Sony is up first at the event on Monday with a 135-minute presentation that will likely show off some \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d footage for the room only as well as offer a \u201cSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse\u201d update. \u201cInsidious: The Bleeding World\u201d and next \u201cJumanji\u201d are also likely to get teased there.<\/p>\n

Warner Bros is on Tuesday with clips likely from \u201cSupergirl,\u201d \u201cMortal Kombat II\u201d and \u201cDune: Part Three\u201d as well as potential first looks at \u201cClayface,\u201d \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d \u201cThe Great Beyond\u201d and \u201cGodzilla x Kong: Supernova\u201d. Something from \u201cDigger\u201d is also likely, while a new \u201cEvil Dead Burn\u201d trailer has just been rated, which means it could go online.<\/p>\n

That\u2019ll be followed by Wednesday by Universal with \u201cDisclosure Day,\u201d \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d and \u201cMinions & Monsters\u201d as well as possible \u201cFocker-in-Law\u201d and \u201cWerwulf\u201d first looks. Amazon MGM Studios could show off first looks at \u201cI Play Rocky,\u201d \u201cMadden\u201d and \u201cThe Thomas Crown Affair\u201d remake that day too as well as a big push for \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d.<\/p>\n

Paramount and Disney are on Thursday with \u201cScary Movie 6,\u201d \u201cJackass 5,\u201d \u201cStreet Fighter,\u201d \u201cPassenger,\u201d \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d \u201cThe Mandalorian and Grogu,\u201d \u201cMoana,\u201d \u201cThe Dog Stars\u201d \u201cWhalefall,\u201d and \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d likely to get something. Again, all that stuff will be for the convention goers only and won\u2019t be online \u2013 though descriptions and news from the event will be making headlines.<\/p>\n

THR<\/a> notes that \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d has been \u201cexploding on long-lead tracking\u201d and Disney could well capitalise on this by doing something big at the event, such as outline what\u2019s next for the MCU.<\/p>\n

Scattered between all this are smaller distributors like GKIDS, NEON, Black Bear and Angel, with one of the big titles to show footage being \u201cGodzilla Minus Zero\u201d.
