\u201cThe View\u201d co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin described former Vice President\u00a0Kamala Harris\u2019 interview with Stephen Colbert<\/a> as a \u201cmicrocosm\u201d of everything that\u2019s wrong with the Democratic Party after its loss in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was struck by, I\u2019m going to try not be too harsh on this. This interview felt like a microcosm of everything that\u2019s wrong with Democrats post-election. I\u2019m going to CBS and this sort of trying to make a point that they fired Stephen Colbert, which many on the left called an attack on democracy, a man who was making $20 million a year, someone I hold in high esteem, but the economics of his show were not working,\u201d Griffin said during an appearance on CNN\u2019s \u201cTable for Five\u201d on Saturday.<\/p>\n

CBS announced in July that it would be ending Colbert\u2019s late-night show at the end of the next broadcast season, citing financial reasons.<\/p>\n

However, Colbert\u2019s liberal allies<\/a> believe the\u00a0cancellation was political,\u00a0as it came days after he criticized CBS\u2019 parent company, Paramount, for settling with President\u00a0Trump.<\/p>\n

Griffin said Harris\u2019 decision to appear on Colbert was like \u201cannouncing your exploratory committee on the sinking deck of the Titanic.\u201d CNN<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was losing $40 million a year. He was in the Ed Sullivan Theater, which is expensive, to talk about the plight of democracy at CBS, a network that\u2019s having its own struggles right now, rather than talking about the economics of the situation and playing to something a shrinking audience that is network television, not realizing it\u2019s not where the American voters are,\u201d Griffin, an anti-Trump Republican who\u00a0voted for Harris\u00a0in 2024, continued.<\/p>\n

CNN data analyst Harry Enten dismissed Harris\u2019 comments during the interview about a\u00a0broken system.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, I made the decision that I just \u2014 for now, I don\u2019t want to go back in the system<\/a>. I think it\u2019s broken,\u201d Harris told Colbert after he asked about her declining a potential California gubernatorial run.<\/p>\n

Harris announced on\u00a0Thursday she would be releasing a book on her failed 2024 campaign. CBS<\/p>\n

\u201cI just can\u2018t possibly believe that someone who was attorney general for a good period of time, a United States senator for a good period of time, and then vice president for four years and then ran for president, all of a sudden believes that the best way to solve it is from being outside the system. Oh, please. Not a chance on God\u2018s green earth that that\u2019s necessarily the case,\u201d Enten said, reacting to Harris\u2019 remarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2018s probably going on is she saw what the polling numbers were, perhaps for her running for governor of California. Yes, she has left open the idea that maybe she could run in 2028 for the Democratic nomination<\/a>. But I\u2018ll tell you Abby, I\u2018ve looked at those numbers. She would be the weakest front-runner since 1992. So the bottom line is this, she is looking at the numbers. She knows what\u2018s cooking. And then all of a sudden, you know what? Actually, this lifelong politician, I want to be outside the system. Give me a break,\u201d the CNN data analyst added.<\/p>\n

Harris announced on\u00a0Thursday she would be releasing a book on her failed 2024 campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harris, in a video posted to social media on Thursday, announced that her new book, titled \u201c107 Days,\u201d will be released in September and will provide details on what she calls \u201cthe shortest presidential campaign in modern history.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
