She also overhauled her diet and made protein a priority.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"18\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The most important factors Natasha implemented when programming Amy\u2019s workouts were \u2018consistency\u2019 (the pair initially trained three times weekly, now twice) and \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"gradual progression\" data-node-id=\"18.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">gradual progression<\/a> by increasing the intensity and weight lifted over time to help Amy\u2019s body continue to adapt as her muscles repaired after each workout and built back stronger.\u2019 While Amy also does one Pilates session per week and one cardio session (typically incline walking or boxing) weekly, the strength training has helped her hit her goals more effectively, Natasha explains, as \u2018muscle mass burns more fat at rest, so the more she built, the more fat she lost.\u2019<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"23\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Below, Natasha shares the exact 30-minute lower-body and core session the pair does weekly. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"27\" class=\"body-tip css-1c5elkc emevuu60\">While weight loss medication can help you achieve your goals, some <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/41579235\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/41579235\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"research\" data-node-id=\"27.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">research<\/a> suggests that using them alone may lead to reductions in muscle mass, as well as declines in important fitness markers such as VO2 max and strength. Combining them with resistance training and adequate protein intake may help preserve muscle mass and support fitness levels \u2013 but lifestyle-first approaches such as strength training and a diet focused on macronutrients can also be effective on their own. Always consult a medical professional before considering weight loss medications.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Tapper&#8217;s 30-minute lower body and core workout<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"33\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Workout: Perform 8-10 reps of each exercise, with no rest between exercises.
