Augusta National<\/a> is expected to generate about $70 million in merchandise sales during the 2026 golf tournament in Georgia, according to\u00a0Front Office Sports<\/a>\u00a0and other reports.<\/p>\n

The staggering totals are turning heads online and across the sports world.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Masters will do about $70 million in merchandise sales this week,\u201d sports business analyst Joe Pompliano\u00a0wrote on X,<\/a>\u00a0echoing reported estimates. \u201c$10 million per day, $1 million per hour, $16,000 per minute, $277 per second \u2026 in just one week, with no online sales.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pompliano added\u00a0the event\u2019s total\u00a0would exceed the full-year merchandise revenue of the Atlanta Braves by about $25 million.<\/p>\n

Masters merchandise is sold only onsite at Augusta National, with no official online store, prompting fans to spend heavily while attending.<\/p>\n

Attendees often leave with hundreds \u2014 or even thousands \u2014 of dollars in merch, ranging from apparel like an $88 sweatshirt and a $178 woven bag to collectibles such as coveted $50 garden gnomes,\u00a0according to Business Insider.<\/a><\/p>\n

One woman said she was fielding social media requests from people asking her to pick up merchandise for them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou walk in and kind of black out,\u201d another woman told the outlet after spending more than $1,000 on 18 different items. \u201cEverything you thought goes out the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another woman spent $3,500 on over 100 items, buying gifts for friends, family and even future bridesmaids.<\/p>\n

Masters merchandise is considered by fans a \u201cbadge of honor,\u201d one said, and inside the store, shoppers said demand was so intense that \u201cyou could barely move.\u201d<\/p>\n

High-end items are drawing special attention, including a new Masters-branded mahjong set, which is retailing for about $575 but has already appeared on eBay for as much as $7,500,\u00a0according to Golfweek.<\/a><\/p>\n

There are about 1,000 gnomes available daily, priced at nearly $60 each, and they often sell out within the first hour, one Augusta National employee told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried so hard to get this year\u2019s gnome,\u201d one fan commented on Pompliano\u2019s post. \u201cGot there early, stood in line for an hour. They ran out as I was walking in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The total merch figure would align with estimates from recent years, highlighting that\u00a0the scale of spending\u00a0is not new, with the Masters previously generating about $69 million in merchandise revenue in 2022, according to previous Forbes estimates.<\/p>\n

But while fans may spend heavily on merchandise, the\u00a0food offerings\u00a0remain a bargain \u2014 one place where prices stay under par and shoppers can still stay in the green \u2014 Fox News Digital previously reported.<\/p>\n

Sandwiches, including egg salad and the iconic pimento cheese, range from just $1.50 to $3, while muffins are priced at $2.50 and snacks like cookies and chips cost $1.50. A Georgia peach ice cream sandwich sells for $3, with popcorn and candy at $2 and even over-the-counter pain relievers priced at just 75 cents.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0prices drew widespread praise<\/a>\u00a0online, with fans calling them \u201cunreal\u201d compared to other sporting events.<\/p>\n
