Connor McCaffery announced he is leaving his role as an assistant men\u2019s basketball coach at Butler University<\/p>\n

His girlfriend, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, reacted to the post with a simple two-word comment<\/p>\n

The couple have been dating since April 2023<\/p>\n

Connor McCaffery<\/a> announced he\u2019s leaving Butler University in Indiana, and his girlfriend, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark<\/a>, delivered a two-word reaction.<\/p>\n

In an April 9 Instagram<\/a> post, McCaffery, 27, said he would no longer be serving as an assistant coach of the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

He captioned the post with, \u201cEnd of an era! Forever grateful to Coach [Thad] Matta for the opportunity that he gave me. Learned a lot and worked with great people \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffc excited for what\u2019s next !\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark, 24, who plays guard for the Indiana Fever, showed her support via a brief message in the post\u2019s comments section.<\/p>\n

\u201cFun times \ud83d\udc99,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

It is unclear whether McCaffery has another coaching opportunity<\/a> lined up, or whether a potential new job will keep him in state.<\/p>\n

McCaffery and Clark, both University of Iowa alumni, began dating<\/a> in April 2023, though they didn’t make their relationship Instagram official until later that year in August when Clark shared an Instagram carousel<\/a> with two photos of the couple, captioning the post, \u201cBest end to summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

They are known to openly gush about one another on social media and often share their support for each other.<\/p>\n

In January, McCaffery wished Clark a happy birthday, writing, \u201cHappy 24th CC,\u201d in an Instagram tribute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201ccelebrating you is a privilege and I\u2019m so grateful for the laughter and joy you bring to our everyday lives \u267e\ufe0f 2026 has so much in store for you. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
