The Anambra State Government, through the Geeks & Founders Alliance for Soludo, has launched a Mobile Tech Hub to provide free high-speed internet access across key public areas in the state, including student communities and political gatherings.\n<\/p>\n
The unveiling, which took place recently in the state, was led by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, alongside Secretary to the State Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu and Deputy Chief of Staff Chief Chinedu Nwoye, among other officials.\n<\/p>\n
The former Central Bank chief is seeking re-election in the upcoming polls scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025, as approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The launch of Solution WiFi adds momentum to his campaign, positioning technology at the heart of governance and public engagement.\n<\/p>\n
The project, branded Solution WiFi, features a specially equipped Hummer bus and a shuttle vehicle fitted with internet delivery tools. It aims to serve more than 3,000 users during its initial rollout.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cThis project is further proof that the Governor\u2019s vision for a smart Anambra is working,\u201d Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Agbata, said in a note shared with The PUNCH.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this launch, the people of Anambra can now enjoy Solution WiFi on the go, a boost for learning, business, and staying connected,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n
The service made its debut during the Anambra Central endorsement rally for Soludo, where it connected 1,932 attendees. Of these, 68 per cent accessed the network via the Hummer bus, while 32 per cent connected through the shuttle, the note indicated.<\/p>\n
Since assuming office in 2022, the economist has embarked on a series of digital transformation initiatives aimed at building a connected, inclusive economy. Notably, Anambra became the first state in Nigeria\u2019s South-East to implement zero right-of-way charges, a policy that significantly lowers the cost of broadband rollout and enhances access to high-speed internet.\n<\/p>\n
GEFAS also deployed a digital campaign strategy at the event, collecting 588 verified voter contacts, including names, phone numbers, wards, and local government areas. These have been added to the GEFAS Call Centre system, run in partnership with the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters.\n<\/p>\n
So far, the call centre has placed nearly 40,000 calls aimed at targeted messaging, civic engagement, and campaign feedback collection ahead of the 2025 elections.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a clear example of how GEFAS is using tech and data to strengthen the governor\u2019s re-election bid. We are not just campaigning; we are connecting,\u201d Agbata stated.\n<\/p>\n
GEFAS urged attendees at future events to connect to Solution WiFi by searching for the network on their devices. The group described the initiative as a demonstration of what lies ahead if Governor Soludo is re-elected.\n<\/p>\n
