Hayley Erbert<\/a> reflected candidly on motherhood following the arrival of her first child with Derek Hough<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, April 11, Erbert, 31, shared a carousel of four images that captured daughter Everley, born on December 29, 2025, being doted on by her professional dancer mom. The photos were accompanied by Erbert\u2019s heartfelt musings.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy love. My girl. My world. Motherhood is even more complex and contradicting than I could have ever imagined. It feels like living in two places at once. Where joy and heartache can both be true, all of the time. My heart is constantly bursting open, while also breaking into a million pieces,\u201d Erbert wrote. \u201cI find myself celebrating every little bit of your growth, while quietly grieving the version of you that existed just moments before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hough, 40, shared news of his daughter\u2019s arrival<\/a> via Instagram on January 5. \u201cEverley Capri Hough \ud83e\udd0d,\u201d the Dancing With the Stars<\/a> judge wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of his and Erbert\u2019s hands cupping their baby\u2019s feet. \u201cEvery step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile Dancing With the Stars\u2019 Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough are happily preparing for the arrival of their first baby, the pair are also marking Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month by opening up about Ebert\u2019s first pregnancy, which ended in a miscarriage. \u201cThere are some things in life that change you forever,\u201d they wrote [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Hayley\u2019s post also reflected on how her own world is adjusting to the \u201cbeautiful contradiction\u201d that is motherhood. \u201cThis pull between holding on and letting go, between wanting time to slow down and knowing it never will,\u201d she explained. \u201cIf this is the dichotomy of motherhood, then I\u2019ll try my best to meet it with open arms. Soaking in every little detail, every version of you, every fleeting moment we have together.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded the post, \u201cI love being your mom. I love you beyond, Everley. I have truly never felt a love like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hough was one of many who shared support on the post, writing, \u201c\ud83d\ude22\u2764\ufe0fMy girls,\u201d in the comments section. Fellow DWTS personality Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy also wrote, \u201cSo beautifully said!!!\u201d while Daniella Pashkova commented, \u201cThe best\ud83e\udd79\ud83d\udc9c.\u201d<\/p>\n

Erbert and Hough started dating in 2015 and announced their engagement in June 2022 before tying the knot the following year. After almost two years of marriage, Erbert announced her pregnancy via Instagram in July 2025.<\/p>\n

The mom-to-be, 31, embraced her curves in new maternity photos shared via Instagram on Tuesday, December 30, showing off her transformation in the weeks leading up to their child\u2019s arrival. \u201cThis pregnancy \u2665\ufe0f Forever in awe of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

The couple also shared their baby\u2019s birth<\/a> via social media, too, posting footage from Erbert\u2019s home delivery via the social media platform on January 29. In the clip, Erbert was seen sitting in a birthing pool surrounded by candles inside the couple\u2019s home as Hough stroked his wife\u2019s hair.<\/p>\n

The footage also showed their daughter earth-side, with Hough sharing a kiss with Erbert in the moments that followed.<\/p>\n
