You would rarely hear about a person with a love-hate relationship with vehicles. Soon, Cleveland Browns<\/a> quarterback Shedeur Sanders wouldn\u2019t be one of them. No, he didn\u2019t get into any trouble. Not today, at least. But even as he is squarely focusing on staying the primary signal caller in Berea, his driving troubles are shadowing him. The 24-year-old is taking them head-on. However, we\u2019ve found an interesting small detail in it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cSlow day in the office,\u201d Shedeur Sanders commented on a post shared by Dov Kleiman on X.\u00a0We\u2019ll come to this story later, but first, let\u2019s spill the tea\u00a0because Sanders wasn\u2019t caught alone.<\/p>\n

On June 17, 2025, the police pulled him over near the Ohio Turnpike bridge at 12:24 am for driving his black Dodge Ram TRX 101 mph on Interstate 71 north in Strongsville. This was 41 mph over the posted speed limit. The police officer issued the then-NFL rookie a ticket and summoned him to appear in Strongsville Mayor\u2019s Court on July 3.<\/p>\n

But per the citation, he wasn\u2019t required to be there in person if he paid a $250 fine to waive the fourth-degree misdemeanor case. Here\u2019s where things get interesting, though!<\/p>\n

Any time you ask Shedeur about his relationship, he always denies the fact. Sure, he has the right to his privacy, but he always mentioned that his mother was the only lady in his life. But when the police stopped him last year, he was following a green Genesis clocked at 92 mph by the same officer, and the latter\u2019s bodycam footage continuously referred to her as Sanders\u2019 girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Now, was it a legit girlfriend or a friend who happened to be a girl? We won\u2019t know until Sanders himself reveals the truth. We would, of course, be thrilled for the Colorado alum. Sanders was less than fazed by the video resurfacing, probably because this wasn\u2019t his first speeding ticket.<\/p>\n

He was pulled over twice that very month for driving over the limit. The previous fine came on June 5, 2025, when the Ohio State Patrol pulled him over for speeding in Brunswick Hills. He was going at 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Following this, he also received a fine worth $150.<\/p>\n

However, Medina Municipal Court records show that he failed to pay the fine or appear for an arraignment on the agreed-upon date (in this case, June 16), after which the amount was increased to $269. While the Browns did not respond to the June 17 speeding, they did in this one.<\/p>\n

Browns spokesman Peter John-Baptiste told Cleveland.com then that: \u201che is taking care of the tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanders, back then, stated that he takes these incidents as lessons learnt, saying, \u201cI made some wrong choices, and I\u2019ve got to own up to them. You know, I\u2019ve made some not great choices. I learned.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Sanders has not been in much trouble lately, he\u2019s not the only Brown who has found himself in a mess.\u00a0Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was also found speeding over 100mph in a 60mph zone, and was fined about $250.<\/p>\n

However, Sanders is also working on himself, which many may perceive as him trying to reshape fans\u2019 perceptions of his personality.<\/p>\n

The Cleveland Browns are still searching for a long-term answer at quarterback, but Shedeur Sanders is already winning over the city for reasons off the field. A video of Sanders talking about his weekly community work recently went viral, showing a side of the young signal-caller that many fans hadn\u2019t seen. In the clip, Sanders explains his tradition of supporting local students.<\/p>\n

\u201cI go to different schools once a week and just give the schools pizza. I just pay for it every week. The whole school,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Fans are calling it a \u201cclass act,\u201d and honestly, it\u2019s easy to see why.<\/p>\n

Seeing him pop up at local spots like John Marshall High School has gone a long way with the community. This kind of genuine connection is starting to flip the script on Sanders. Not that Berea didn\u2019t already prefer him more.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t hard to see that the Dawg Pound would keep asking for Sanders until he finally replaced Dillon Gabriel as the starter. Even then, with his long throws, use of legs, and making decent decisions under pressure impressed many. But mainly, work in\u00a0the field last year was rough.<\/p>\n

Many times, he didn\u2019t look comfortable, and it didn\u2019t help as he struggled to find his rhythm while playing behind a shaky offensive line.\u00a0The stat line tells the same, as he recorded 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 10 picks over 8 games.<\/p>\n

The pressure on Sanders is now reaching a breaking point as the Browns enter a new era under head coach Todd Monken. On 92.3 The Fan, analysts Anthony Lima and Ken Carman debated whether the young quarterback has enough time to prove he is the long-term solution.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Shedeur has to start this year, or he\u2019s not going to get the chance,\u201d producer John bluntly said.\u00a0He argued that Sanders needs to start and succeed immediately, or the opportunity will simply vanish.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Deshaun Watson\u2019s massive contract<\/a> still looming over the roster, Sanders still has a chance to affirm his position, or else the team will rely on the 2027 season\u2019s draft pick to land a solid QB for their team. The clock is ticking for the former Colorado star.<\/p>\n
