{"id":581877,"date":"2026-04-13T15:57:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T15:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/581877\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T15:57:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T15:57:09","slug":"hunger-games-sunrise-on-the-reaping-trailer-joseph-zada-is-haymitch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/581877\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping Trailer: Joseph Zada Is Haymitch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWelcome back to Panem.<\/p>\n<p>Lionsgate has released a new trailer for \u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/hunger-games\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hunger-games\" data-tag=\"hunger-games\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hunger Games<\/a>: Sunrise on the Reaping,\u201d the latest installment in the \u201cHunger Games\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Suzanne Collins\u2019 2025 novel of the same name, \u201cSunrise on the Reaping\u201d is set 24 years before the events of \u201cThe Hunger Games.\u201d The movie will follow the story of Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss Everdeen\u2019s mentor and fellow District 12 victor, beginning the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games. Since the 50th Games mark Panem\u2019s second Quarter Quell \u2014 which takes place every 25 years \u2014 each district of the dystopian country must send twice the amount of tributes to the Capitol. Instead of the standard 24 tributes, 48 children must fight to the death in the Hunger Games.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/joseph-zada\/\" id=\"auto-tag_joseph-zada\" data-tag=\"joseph-zada\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joseph Zada<\/a> stars as Haymitch, joined by Jesse Plemons as a young Plutarch Heavensbee; Ralph Fiennes as the villainous President Snow; Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, a District 12 official; Kieran Culkin as the eccentric broadcast host Caesar Flickerman; Elle Fanning as a young Effie Trinket; Mckenna Grace as District 12 tribute Maysilee Donner; Maya Hawke as a young Wiress; Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, Haymitch\u2019s love interest; and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as a young Beetee Latier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/the-hunger-games-sunrise-on-the-reaping\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-hunger-games-sunrise-on-the-reaping\" data-tag=\"the-hunger-games-sunrise-on-the-reaping\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/a>\u201d is directed by Francis Lawrence and is based on the screenplay by Billy Ray.
