The previous milestone for most regular-season game tickets sold was 84,587 set on Sept. 12, 1954, in a contest between Cleveland and the New York Yankees.<\/p>\n<p>A preseason game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on March 29, 2008, holds the record for MLB single-game attendance with 115,300 tickets sold.<\/p>\n<p>Fans at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday encountered logistical issues at the venue. Many concession stands ran out of food during the first rain delay, which lasted two hours and 17 minutes. A Reds fan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6532872\/2025\/08\/02\/mlb-suspends-speedway-classic-reds-braves\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who spoke to The Athletic on Saturday night<\/a> said it was \u201cthe worst logistical experience,\u201d and, \u201cThey ran out of food and beer, and the fan zone was underwhelming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many took to Twitter to decry the circumstances, including longtime trial lawyer Lester Tate, who once <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akintate.com\/team\/s-lester-tate-iii\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">served as president<\/a> of the State Bar of Georgia. \u201cThe Bristol game was the MLB version of Fyre Fest,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LesterTate\/status\/1951830679081078980\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">he wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fox Sports\u2019 Kevin Burkhardt also commented on the lack of food, saying on air, \u201cWe\u2019re out of food, so it\u2019s really panic time,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cincinnati.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/reds\/2025\/08\/02\/mlb-speedway-classic-bristol-ran-out-of-food-concessions-fox-sports-kevin-burkhardt\/85495283007\/?taid=688ed7bf2ef7980001c9c1e8&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">according to the Cincinnati Enquirer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The venue\u2019s communications department announced early Sunday that fans could bring in outside food and non-alcoholic beverages after not being allowed to do so on Saturday.
