Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers brought in three more players to visit pre-draft. Per the PPG\u2019s Brian Batko,<\/a> the team is hosting Utah OL Spencer Fano, Alabama WR Germie Bernard, and Arkansas QB Taylen Green.<\/p>\n

Bernard and Green were previously known but Fano is a new name to the list and one of the highest-rated players Pittsburgh\u2019s brought in for a visit so far.<\/p>\n

Fano is the highest projected prospect they’ve hosted this year, a college right tackle who probably can play guard too.<\/p>\n

A likely first-round selection, Fano is one of the draft\u2019s top offensive linemen. Debate has focused on his ability to stay at offensive tackle or kick inside to guard. At the NFL Combine, he measured in with just 32 1\/8-inch arms that left many assuming he would play inside. At his Pro Day, his arms were remeasured and came in at 32 7\/8-inches, just under the league\u2019s traditional benchmark of 33 inches. At the Combine, he weighed in at 6054, 311 pounds. He\u2019s also a young prospect, not turning 22 until November.<\/p>\n

A three-year starter for the Utes, Fano has experience at right tackle (24 starts) and left tackle (11 starts). He won the 2025 Outland Trophy Award given to college football\u2019s top offensive lineman. Our scouting report noted<\/a> his impressive athletic ability, anchor and strength in pass protection, and finishing ability as a run blocker. Negatively, he needs to be more aggressive and fire his hands earlier and displays a high pad level in pass protection. We concluded:<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, Spencer Fano shows great flashes as a run blocker and in pass protection. He uses his athletic ability to win, but his average play strength can hurt him at times. In the run game, he wins consistently in space and plays with good technique. As a pass protector, he has great grip strength and a strong anchor but needs to be more aggressive throwing punches.<\/p>\n

Fano has the skills to be a productive starting offensive tackle, specifically at right tackle. It will be interesting to see what his arm length is, because I do not think he will be as good as a guard.\u201d<\/p>\n

And gave him an 8.1 grade on our scale. Fano also has plenty of athletic bloodlines with four uncles who played in the NFL. His brother, Logan, was a teammate of his at Utah and is a late-round candidate for the 2026 draft.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh could draft Fano and slide him into left guard to replace Isaac Seumalo.<\/p>\n

Bernard doesn\u2019t wow with athleticism but is a well-rounded player with good size and solid production. In 2025, he caught 64 passes for 862 yards and seven touchdowns. At the Combine, he weighed in at 6012, 206 pounds and ran a 4.48 40 with 32.5 inch vertical. Our profile noted his refined route running, strong hands in traffic, and willingness to block. However, his lack of speed and burst limits him as a post-catch threat. Here\u2019s the final thoughts from our report.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cGermie Bernard does a lot of things that you\u2019d really want an NFL receiver to do. He isn\u2019t scared of contact in any aspect and brings a physical nature to the position. But he\u2019s not just strong. For being just 22 years old, Bernard is incredibly savvy as a route runner, using head fakes, leverage, and a simple understanding of how to break down zone coverage.<\/p>\n

However, his game is somewhat capped. He can run deep routes well but doesn\u2019t have the speed to be a true every-down deep threat at the NFL level. He also doesn\u2019t have much agility. This hurts him against press coverage It limits what he can do after the catch, despite his impressive contact balance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bernard is likely to be drafted somewhere in the second round and could be an option if Pittsburgh bypasses on a first-round receiver.<\/p>\n

Green lit up the NFL Combine with one of the best workouts by a quarterback. At 6057, 227 pounds, he ran a 4.37 40, posted a 43.5 inch vertical, and 11\u20332 broad jump. A tall-but-leaner build, Green has a live arm and great athleticism that allows him to extend plays. He\u2019s experienced and battled-tested in the SEC after transferring from Boise State.<\/p>\n

However, his game is inconsistent and flawed. Green\u2019s pocket presence is poor, and he takes far too many sacks, often a product of him trying to do too much and making a bad play worse. The fact he\u2019s started nearly 50 games and still shows basic bad habits is troubling. We compared him<\/a> to the NFL career of Vince Young.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, Green is a boom-bust player. There are traits and upside to bet on. A chance worth taking with a big payoff. But his flaws with his experience are troubling and make you wonder how much he can still grow. Certainly not someone a franchise can take early and hang its hat on, but if Green can clean up his pocket presence and become more comfortable, his game could really shine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green is likely drafted on Day 3.<\/p>\n
