After Mark Consuelos<\/a> skipped several episodes of Live With Kelly and Mark<\/a> last week, Kelly Ripa<\/a> is enjoying some time off of her own.<\/p>\n

Ripa was noticeably missing from the daytime talk show\u2019s Monday, August 4, episode, which was prerecorded. In her absence, Nobody Wants This<\/a> star Jackie Tohn<\/a> joined Consuelos at the hosting desk.<\/p>\n

\u201cTune in tomorrow 8\/4 at 9am (check ur local listies)\u2026 but only if you\u2019re into watching me have one of the best days of my life,\u201d she captioned an Instagram<\/a> clip of herself and Consuelos making their show entrance on Sunday, August 3.<\/p>\n

She reposted the video via her Instagram Story, joking, \u201cI\u2019M KELLY RIPA NOW* *(for tomorrow. for one day. which is tomorrow.)\u201d<\/p>\n

Viewers weighed in on Tohn\u2019s hosting performance via social media. \u201cJackie was a great co-host!! She\u2019s amazing! Such a natural! You must have her co-host again!!!\u201d one user wrote on the show\u2019s Facebook<\/a> page on Monday. Another added, \u201cGreat show, great co-host. I found it refreshing that she could talk fast and didn\u2019t take forever to get a story out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharing a different opinion, a third user commented, \u201cThe guest co host she talked so fast I couldn\u2019t keep up to what she was saying and really wasn\u2019t giving Mark a chance to talk.\u201d A separate user shared, \u201cDidn\u2019t care for her too over zealous!\u201d<\/p>\n

Consuelos did not address the reason for his wife\u2019s absence, though he missed the majority of Live\u2018s episodes last week<\/a> to work on a new TV show in Los Angeles. Jerry O\u2019Connell<\/a> filled in for him on the show\u2019s Tuesday, July 29, episode, followed by David Muir<\/a> on Wednesday, July 30, Carson Kressley<\/a> on Thursday, July 31, and Steve Patterson on Friday, August 1.<\/p>\n

Around this time last year<\/a>, Ripa missed Live for her \u201cannual summer vacation,\u201d per Decider, and she traveled to California to receive the title of Disney Legend at the D23 Expo. \u201cCongrats to the newest @Disney legend, Kelly!\u201d Live\u2019s official X page<\/a> captioned photos of Ripa posing with Mickey Mouse, Consuelos, and their daughter, Lola, at the event.<\/p>\n

Ahead of her current absence, Ripa recalled how Consuelos was hesitant to join Live<\/a> as her permanent cohost on the Thursday episode of Kylie Kelce\u2019s Not Gonna Lie podcast<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018No, it\u2019s fun to do [it] once in a while, because it\u2019s only once in a while,’\u201d she shared. \u201cBut then, I sort of said, \u2018It\u2019s so great. It\u2019s so much easier than doing a soap. It\u2019s such a finite amount of time, and you can still go off and have a full life.\u2019 And so, I think that has made it really easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThe best thing about hosting a talk show together is people are like, \u2018You guys, what happens, aren\u2019t you worried about if you have an argument and then you have to go on the air?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018We have arguments on the air.\u2019 And it\u2019s great to have an argument on the air because your audience becomes your counselors and they will let you know who is wrong and who is right. Spoiler alert, I\u2019m usually right.\u201d<\/p>\n

After guest hosting several times over the years, Consuelos joined the series full-time in 2023 following the departure of Ripa\u2019s former cohost, Ryan Seacrest<\/a>.<\/p>\n
