{"id":582330,"date":"2026-04-13T21:08:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T21:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/582330\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T21:08:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T21:08:12","slug":"jon-rahm-reveals-future-masters-changes-after-disappointing-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/582330\/","title":{"rendered":"Jon Rahm reveals future Masters changes after disappointing tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Jon Rahm returns to Augusta National for the 2027 Masters, he\u2019ll likely have made some changes to how he prepared.<\/p>\n<p>That, at least, was the sentiment that the former world No. 1 and 2023 Masters champion echoed in the aftermath of his final round Sunday, when he finished 1-over for the tournament and 13 shots behind winner Rory McIlroy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely some things I\u2019m going change going forward,\u201d Rahm said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfdigest.com\/story\/masters-2026-jon-rahm-changes-preparation-final-round-comments\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to Golf Digest<\/a>. \u201cPreparation-wise and what to do. But it\u2019s hard to say how much I learned because I don\u2019t think we ever seen a Masters this firm and I don\u2019t know how long it\u2019s going to be until we do again. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Rahm didn\u2019t specifically hint at what those changes would be, but he wasn\u2019t the only golfer in the field to mention the course conditions following the final round \u2014 as current world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/sports\/scottie-scheffler-thinks-decision-by-masters-bosses-cost-him-chance-at-green-jacket\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">made it clear that he wasn\u2019t thrilled with the conditions Friday morning<\/a> compared to the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>But with Rahm, he opened with a 6-over 78 Thursday before making the cut thanks to a 2-under 70 one day later \u2014 following that up with a 1-over and a 4-under across the final two rounds to finish in a tie for 38th place, which marked his second-worst placement in the standings across his 10 years in the tournament, according to Golf Digest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHave you ever seen looking down the property how yellow the patron areas and how brown and purple parts of the greens and fairways are?\u201d he said. \u201cIt will be a long time until we see it like this.
