Veteran guard Russell Westbrook will be headed for unrestricted free agency over the offseason, but Westbrook would like to continue his career<\/a> in Sacramento with the Kings<\/a> \u2013 if the Kings want to bring him back.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been great for me here,\u201d Westbrook said of Sacramento. \u201cIf I\u2019m welcomed back, then I\u2019ll be back. But that\u2019s not up to me. It\u2019s kind of how it\u2019s been for me for the last couple of summers and seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 Anywhere I\u2019m wanted, I\u2019m there,\u201d Westbrook added. \u201cI want to be able to be helpful, be productive. I also understand it\u2019s a business. I\u2019ve been around a long time, so I understand a lot of different variables for that. That\u2019s out of my control. My job is to be ready, be prepared and be ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a veteran presence, Westbrook was one of the few bright spots for the Kings this season. In 64 games (and 58 starts) for Sacramento, Westbrook averaged 15.2 points, 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per performance. Not bad for a guy in his 18th season in the league.<\/p>\n
