Alysa Liu was able to win gold<\/a> in figure skating at the 2026 Olympics thanks in part to skating to a song by Laufey. Now, she\u2019s joined a star-studded cast to act in the musician\u2019s latest video.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Icelandic pop star released the music video<\/a> for her latest song \u201cMadwoman,\u201d which featured Liu acting as one of the singer\u2019s three \u201cBesties.\u201d The other two friends in the music video are actress Lola\u00a0Tung, who\u2019s best known for playing the lead role in the Amazon Prime Video series \u201cThe Summer I Turned Pretty,\u201d and Megan Skiendiel, a musician from the girl group Katseye. Also featured is \u201cHeated Rivalry\u201d star Hudson Williams, who plays \u201cthe Man\u201d in the video.<\/p>\n

The duo teased the figure skater\u2019s appearance in the music video on social media<\/a> over the past few weeks, posting glamor shots from the shoot day. It\u2019s a continuation of a friendship between the musician \u2014 who has more than 10 million followers\u00a0on TikTok<\/a>, a platform that significantly boosted her fame \u2014 and the winter sports star that has taken center stage in the past 15 months.<\/p>\n

Liu used two of Laufey\u2019s songs as part of her skating program during the 2024-25 season, which she capped off by skating to \u201cLet You Break My Heart Again\u201d during\u00a0the exhibition gala<\/a> at the 2025 U.S. national championships. But her main short program song<\/a> throughout the season was \u201cPromise,\u201d one she kept for the 2025-26 season\u00a0\u2014 and brought with her<\/a> to Milan for the Olympics.<\/p>\n

But before Liu took Laufey\u2019s music to the Olympic ice,\u00a0Laufey brought the Oakland-raised figure skater to the stage<\/a> during a San Francisco concert last September, giving her a \u201cbest dressed\u201d award (Liu is shown wearing her championship medal and the costume she skated to \u201cPromise\u201d in). And now, Laufey has brought Liu further into her musical world with the video, in which Liu dances in go-go boots, plays\u00a0mahjong by the pool with Tung and shows off her now-famous halo hairstyle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Laufey isn\u2019t the only music star Liu has interacted with in recent weeks. In late March, Liu presented Taylor Swift<\/a> with the Artist of the Year award at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, with the two clearly showing a bond<\/a>.<\/p>\n
