The lefty congressman raked in more than $100,000 from entertainment industry donors before his run run for California governor<\/a> came crashing down on Sunday. <\/p>\n And now that Swalwell\u2019s campaign is over and he\u2019s set to quit Congress on the back of a growing sexual assault scandal, Tinseltown has gone eerily quiet on the East Bay Democrat.<\/p>\n Swalwell\u2019s celebrity supporters included genuine A-listers like Sean Penn, Robert De Niro, and Jane Fonda.<\/p>\n The East Bay mingled with Sean Penn, who gave $15,000 to his campaign. Getty Images for Paramount+<\/p>\n Penn, an outspoken lefty and frequent Trump critic, handed Swalwell\u2019s campaign a cool $15,000, records show. <\/p>\n \u201cThe Godfather\u201d and \u201dCasino\u201d star Robert De Niro pitched in $10,000, as did \u201cMad Men\u2019s\u201d Jon Hamm and\u00a0\u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d actor, Jon Cryer.<\/p>\n The soon-to-be-former congressman, 45, was well-known as a political Hollywood fan boy \u2013 regularly skipping votes in the House to mingle with celebs <\/a>at events such as the February premiere of \u201cWhite Lotus\u201d in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n The hit show\u2019s producer, David Bernad, donated a combined $20,000, along with producers\u00a0Shawn Ryan of \u201cThe Night Agent\u201d and Alex Baskin of \u201cVanderpump Rules\u201d and \u201cThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.\u201d<\/p>\n D-list comedian Kathy Griffin gave $10,000, while Bryan Lourd, CEO of Creative Artists Agency, rounded out the crowd of Hollywood heavyweights backing Swalwell with a $12,500 contribution.<\/p>\n Emails to the Hollywood stars\u2019 representatives were not immediately returned.<\/p>\n Actor Robert De Niro kicked in $10,000 to Swalwell\u2019s campaign for governor.
