Kanye West<\/a> \u2013 legally known as Ye \u2013\u00a0is being sued by an unidentified man for an alleged assault. The supposed altercation happened in April 2024 at Chateau Marmont, a celebrity hotspot hotel in Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n

According to details obtained by TMZ<\/a>, Kanye is being sued for battery and infliction of emotional distress. This stems from an alleged assault that happened two years ago at LA\u2019s Chateau Marmont.<\/p>\n

In the lawsuit, the claimant \u2013\u00a0who is seeking an unspecified amount of damages \u2013\u00a0accused the controversial rapper of punching him at the iconic hotel. The man said the alleged punch \u201cknocked him to the ground,\u201d where he \u201chit his head and lost consciousness.\u201d He added that Kanye then \u201crepeatedly punched him as he lay unconscious on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the filing, the unidentified man said Kanye had falsely accused him of engaging in offensive and inappropriate conduct towards a woman in his entourage. \u201c[Kanye] repeated and embellished these lies during a widely viewed podcast appearance, exposing plaintiff to public scorn, suspicion and ridicule,\u201d the lawsuit states.<\/p>\n

So far, Kanye has not responded to TMZ\u2019s request for comment. But his PR team is probably pretty busy. News of the lawsuit comes just days after a festival he was due to headline<\/a> was called off.<\/p>\n

To recap, London\u2019s Wireless Festival recently announced that Kanye would perform at the event in July. While some fans were excited by the news, there was also a lot of backlash. This was due to the rapper\u2019s repeated controversial behaviour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The decision to book Kanye as a festival headliner even caught the attention of the British Prime Minister \u2026 which is perhaps why he was ultimately denied entry to the UK<\/a>.<\/p>\n
