Jim Nantz admitted Tuesday that CBS\u2019s coverage of Rory McIlroy\u2019s Masters victory wasn\u2019t perfect.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In an appearance on \u201cThe Pat McAfee Show,\u201d the legendary sports broadcaster acknowledged that the moment McIlroy tapped in his putt for a second straight Green Jacket win could have been better.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s live television,\u201d Nantz said. \u201cWe all make mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Nantz didn\u2019t point fingers, noting that he was \u201cproud\u201d of the CBS production team over Masters weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You\u2019re making so many split-second decisions,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2026 I can\u2019t speak to the difficulty and some of the decision-making, and some of the other things that people are responsible for. I just know that our crew is the best in the business.\u201d<\/p>\n

CBS was ripped<\/a> for missing where McIlroy\u2019s final four shots of the tournament landed, including his gutsy shot through the woods that ended up in a sand trap on the front left of the green.<\/p>\n

On the final shot of the tournament, the network also botched the angle on McIlroy\u2019s putt because the Northern Irishman was blocking the hole.<\/p>\n

Instead of sticking to golf shots on the course, the broadcast bizarrely kept turning to young McIlroy fans watching the tournament at his home golf club in Hollywood, Ireland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aside from the shaky coverage, the final round was one of the most thrilling in recent Masters history.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After holding a Masters-record six-shot lead heading into Saturday, McIlroy went into the final round in a tie with Cam Young at the top of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n

With a topsy-turvy Sunday, McIlroy went on to finish atop the leaderboard<\/a> at 12-under par, beating out Scottie Scheffler by one stroke.<\/p>\n
