BEVERLY, Mass. \u2014 A suspect has been arrested in connection with a violent mansion invasion<\/a> in Beverly back in March. <\/p>\n

Emajae Brown was charged with home invasion, kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, witness intimidation, armed assault in a dwelling, larceny over $1,200, breaking into a building at nighttime with the intent to commit a felony, larceny of a motor vehicle, and armed burglary. <\/p>\n

He was taken into custody in Gloucester was classified as a \u201cdanger to the community\u201d by the prosecution.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, March 28, officers responded to a 911 call<\/a> from a neighbor of Rock Edge on Paine Avenue in Beverly just before 9 a.m. and learned two-armed suspects had broken into the mansion and assaulted and tied up one person who was inside.<\/p>\n

One of the suspects then fled the scene with several stolen items, including gold, silver, watches, and United States currency, including a Porsche.<\/p>\n

As an investigation continued using surveillance cameras, they put the Porsche into Flock cameras where it was tracked to a cemetery in the city of Lynn.<\/p>\n

Ring cameras of the area were able to locate Brown, who was followed through phone surveillance to New York, where he was allegedly meeting with a jewelry dealer in New York City.<\/p>\n

With assistance from the FBI and New York, they eventually located over $300,000 and numerous gold items in his car. <\/p>\n

Neighbors on Hollis Road in Lynn watched as several police cruisers swarmed their small, quiet neighborhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey had a van, they had a regular cruiser, and then they had three or four unmarked cruisers,\u201d said Edward Palmariello. <\/p>\n

He said he would often see Brown in the area. <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think it was this guy. The kid\u2019s quiet… Minds his business. He\u2019ll drive by and gives a wave, and that\u2019s about it,\u201d Palmariello added. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor this neighborhood, yeah, it\u2019s crazy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The victim of the home invasion was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s next court date is April 21 for a dangerousness hearing and was held without bail. He was also ordered to have no contact with the named witnesses. <\/p>\n

The other suspect involved in the home invasion is still on the loose.<\/p>\n
