\n\tThe Fremen descended on CinemaCon<\/a>, chanting, on Tuesday night \u2014 as did Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve<\/a> to tease Dune: Part Three<\/a>. To that, they unspooled the film\u2019s first seven minutes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe clip opens with Fremen ships sailing through dark, gray, foggy air, crashing down on a planet where it\u2019s raining. They chant and say \u201cGod be with us\u201d before heading into battle. Lasers fly at them, obliterating many.<\/p>\n

\n\tFinally, we cut to more of an extended preview of the whole film, where Momoa\u2019s Duncan Idaho tells Chalamet\u2019s Paul Atreides he\u2019s \u201cway beyond redemption\u201d after becoming a destroyer of worlds.<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore airing the footage, Villleneuve joined a Fremen army onstage, where some ascended on wires. He jokingly called them his \u201centourage\u201d and talked about his intention to make each new Dune movie its own \u201cnew cinematic experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe third and final film in his trilogy, he said, is \u201ca thriller \u2014 action-packed, more intense and definitely more emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHis stars then joined him onstage as Villeneuve explained where the story is headed. In the new film, he said, it\u2019s 17 years a later, and \u201ca very different world\u201d where Atreides\u2019\u00a0\u201cnightmares became reality\u201d and he\u2019s left to grapple with \u201cthe consequences of his decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is \u201ca redemption story,\u201d Villeneuve said. \u201cBut still the heartbeat of the film is that love story between Chani and Paul, [albeit] more of a broken love story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChalamet said Paul has \u201cbecome his worst vision and he\u2019s struggling to \u2026 figure out how to protect those he loves while becoming the all-powerful dark emperor of the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZendaya added: \u201cThe years don\u2019t seem to have been kind to anyone in Dune. [It\u2019s been] a really difficult, challenging, ungentle and unkind few years,\u201d though there\u2019s \u201cso much left still to fight for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe said we\u2019re catching her character, Chani, \u201cat a very different place in her life where that youthful outlook is completely gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd while Momoa\u2019s character died in Dune: Part One, he\u2019s back this time around through the power of Ghola technology.<\/p>\n

\n\tVilleneuve told the crowd it was \u201cemotional to say farewell to Paul and Chani in the desert. We became like a small family. It\u2019s like 10 years of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChalamet wrapped things up by calling Villeneuve \u201cthe one \u2026 the real Paul Atreides.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tContinuing Villeneuve\u2019s adaptation of the Dune novels by Frank Herbert, Dune: Part Three releases December 18.<\/p>\n
