Asia-Pacific markets rose Wednesday, tracking overnight gains in U.S. stocks, amid rising hopes of a diplomatic solution to the Middle East conflict. <\/p>\n

A\u00a0White House official<\/a>\u00a0told CNBC on Tuesday that a second round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran was under discussion. Nothing has been officially scheduled yet, the official said, who asked not to be named to discuss the administration’s internal plans.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been called by the other side,” President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0said Monday. “They’d like to make a deal very badly, he added. <\/p>\n

Oil reversed early losses to trade higher. The\u00a0West Texas Intermediate<\/a> rose 0.47% at $91.72 per barrel as of 12:49 a.m. ET. Brent crude<\/a> gained 1.03% to $95.77 per barrel. <\/p>\n

South Korea’s Kospi advanced 2.87% while the small-cap Kosdaq gained 2.97%. Shares of information technology services provider Samsung SDS rose 20% following news that private equity firm KKR will buy $820 million of its convertible bonds. <\/p>\n

Japan’s Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0was 0.89% higher, while the Topix rose 0.57%. Shares of Suntory Holdings rose 1.69% following news the company will buy Daiichi Sankyo’s OTC unit to expand health business for about $1.2 billion. <\/p>\n

Mainland China’s CSI 300 index inched 0.17% higher, while Hong Kong’s\u00a0Hang Seng index<\/a>\u00a0added 0.76% higher. China’s finance ministry said it will issue 15.5 billion yuan-denominated treasury bonds in Hong Kong on April 22, according to Reuters. <\/p>\n

India’s Nifty 50<\/a> gained 1.75% following a holiday on Tuesday. Australia’s S&P\/ASX 200 was flat.<\/p>\n
